Sickness got in the way of birthday celebrations this year (I fear we may have a problem with that every year with a January birthday) so plans changed a few times but we were still able to celebrate our little buddy.
It turned into a week long thing, not that Terran really took notice. But, we got him a cupcake on Monday. He shares a birthday with my friend Robyn, so we went to bring her a treat early since we wouldn't be celebrating on the day of togethwr. Terran wanted a cupcake the minute we walked in so I got him one!
Paige brought Haylee and Nixon over a couple days before with baloons and a football to help us celebrate. She is a sweetheart and Terran loves playing with those two. Haylee and him love to run around crazy and be noisy together, so their friendship works great. Nixon just hangs out, watching and following them around.
His actual planned birthday party didn't happen because his two best buddies were sick and leaving town, and since Haylee had already come earlier in the week, we decided to just do a family thing. I like to follow the advice to keep the guest number close to their age.
I got up with him and we made muffins and then his cake. After a dance party with Zach, we went to Chick-fil-A so he could play and eat hashbrowns. After his nap we headed to the aquarium for a fun outing then had cake as we got home. I pulled it out to get it ready for icing and Terran dug right in! I decided it wasn't all bad because that equaled less mess for me and less sugar calories for him! He isn't a fan of mixed food anyway so with cake and frosting he will usually only eat one or the other. :)
He woke up the next morning and the first thing he wanted to do is play with his new presents from his Oma!
We ended up in St. George that weekend where we had another birthday dinner and presents at Zach's parents. Cousins, toys, and cake helped Terran have a blast!
We love our little two year old!
