Southern Utah Half Marathon

Back in the racing world! I was planning to pace the Southern Utah half marathon but got a free entry a few days before and was able to cover my pacing spot. I wasn't sure what to expect since I had been planning to run at a 9:55 and wasn't sure what I was capable of. I've had a hamstring injury for months now and it has limited my speed work. I went in to it wanting to go fast and be in the 1:50 range. But, since time was not really that important, I ran by feel. It was hard, but great! Amanda was running as well. I started out fast on the downhill and kept checking on her because I thought she could have a fast race. I saw her not too far back around mile seven and decided to wait for her at mile nine. The last few miles were tough but fun as we pushed to stay ahead of the 1:50 pacers. She pulled ahead after a little sprint to stay ahead and I let her go because my hamstring was feeling it. I joined up with a lady with about half mile left and pushed each other in to the finish. I threw up.... First time right after a race but I didn't really get a good breakfast and my fueling wasn't the best. Overall, I completely enjoyed the course and loved the weather. I liked running fast and I ended up with a 1:49, Amanda's got 1:48 as a new PR!

10 months

Kenna bug is so fun. She is trying hard to walk, but doesn't quite trust herself yet, so she always reaches for Mom's hand. She has learned to spit with her lips and is good at spitting things out that shouldn't be in her mouth, or food she doesn't want! Terran is her favorite person and she always wants to be around him. Mom is her snuggle bug and Dad is her special person she always lights up to.
She has started getting fiesty if you try to take something from her. She tries to get Terran going and the other night in the tub was extremely successful. She would squeal and splash, then wait for him to. He would. Back and forth, louder and louder. I finally had to just plug my ears and let them because they were laughing so hard!
She loves to sleep with Mom and screams bloody murder of you put her in her crib.
